Where Tradition Inspires Tomorrow.

Soonabai Pestonji Hakimji High School, is an Indian school imparting primary & secondary education, located at Bordi, Dist: Palghar, Maharashtra State. The school comes under Maharashtra state SSC board and imparts primary, secondary & higher secondary education in Marathi & Gujarati medium.

The education complex of Gokhale Education Society at Bordi has become an ideal centre of education in rural area where students can get opportunity to learn in Marathi, Gujarati & English Medium up to secondary level education and also continue their higher education up to post graduation and diploma courses in Engineering.

As early as the second decade of 20th century the tribal area around Bordi-Gholvad was deprived from the education facilities. Majority of people were peasants and relied on agriculture as means of livelihood. Primary education was in existence at some extent. In the year 1918 a teacher having good knowledge of English education in Mumbai (a student of Prof. Gunjikar) Mr. Govind Ganesh Churi, came to Bordi and started English classes.

At the very same time a determined enthusiastic youth, Mr. Atmaram Vithal Save, who had recently passed B.A. and was working in Oriental Insurance Company in Mumbai joined the venture to establish English school in Bordi village. For this noble cause, he sacrificed the comforts of Mumbai and a high salary job. He immediately resigned his job and came to establish the foundation of English school in his own native land, for his own people.
